After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Coastal Christian, Cuyama Valley was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Coast Union Broncos. This was a revenge game for the Bears: when they faced off against the Broncos back in September, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

Cuyama Valley was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (109-108), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 25-18, 17-25, 21-25, 30-28, 15-13.

Cuyama Valley's victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Coast Union, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Cuyama Valley will venture away from home to challenge San Luis Obispo Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coast Union, they will welcome Wonderful College Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
