Recap: Clear Falls Knights vs. Clear Lake Falcons
The Clear Falls Knights fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took down Clear Lake 23-6 on Friday. Given Clear Falls' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Clear Lake is ranked 403rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clear Falls can attribute much of their success to Dylan Proctor, who rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Proctor was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards. Clear Falls also got a significant boost from Cameron Kern, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 124 yards.
Another reason for the win was Clear Falls' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Preston Pitts and Mason Paterson who racked up six sacks between them.
Clear Falls is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Clear Lake, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Clear Falls will head out on the road to face off against Clear Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clear Lake, they will be playing at home against Brazoswood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brazoswood comes in on a streak of failing to score more than ten points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
