Preview: Mead Mavericks vs. Lakewood Tigers
The Mead Mavericks will be playing at home against the Lakewood Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Frederick scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, Mead still came out on top. Mead sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 63-60 win over Frederick.
Dominic McLawrence and Matthew Angelo were among the main playmakers for Mead as the former scored 22 points along with 8 rebounds and the latter scored 24 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Donovan Weese, who scored 10 points.
Meanwhile, Lakewood didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Coronado on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 44-38 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lakewood.
Lakewood had a senior duo take command as Sam Silburn scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds and Jake Davis scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Giguere, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds.
Mead's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Lakewood, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
