Clovis West had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.2 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They took down the Central East Bengals 83-69. Given the Golden Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Bengals are ranked 578th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clovis West's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Central East, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-12.

Looking ahead, Clovis West will welcome Clovis East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles will be up against the Timberwolves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.12 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Central East, they will challenge Buchanan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
