Baseball Recap: South Umpqua Beats Glide for Their Eighth Straight Win

South Umpqua waltzed into their contest on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came out on top against the Glide Wildcats by a score of 9-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-3 on Tuesday.

South Umpqua's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Glide, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Umpqua will venture away from home to challenge Douglas at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matches. As for Glide, they will challenge Mapleton/Siuslaw at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
