Volleyball Recap: Fredericktown Wins Going Away Against West County

Fredericktown's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the West County Bulldogs. The win continues a trend for the Black Cats in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Fredericktown was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-12, 25-9.

Among those leading the charge was Ava Stephens, who had seven digs and three aces. What's more, she posted four assists, the most she's had over her last six contests.

Stephens wasn't the only good server: Fredericktown was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.

The victory got Fredericktown back to even at 4-4. As for West County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4-1 record this season.

Fredericktown will square off against Doniphan at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for West County, they will take on Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
