Football Game Preview: Sanger Apaches vs. Edison Tigers + Official Tickets

Sanger is 9-1 against Edison since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Apaches will welcome the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Sanger will be strutting in after a victory while Edison will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Sanger needed a bit of extra time to put away Justin Garza. They walked away with a 35-28 win over the Guardians. The Apaches haven't had any issues with the Guardians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Kendale McGrew went supernova, rushing for 108 yards and one score on only 15 carries. He is becoming a predictor of Sanger's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 3-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

McGrew was just one part of a punishing run game: Sanger was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 266 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Justin Garza only rushed for 87.

Meanwhile, Edison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 35-10 to San Joaquin Memorial.

Sanger now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Edison, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Everything came up roses for Sanger against Edison in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 43-8 win. Will the Apaches repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
