Preview: Union Rockets vs. Cowan Blackhawks
The Union Rockets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cowan Blackhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Tuesday, Union took a serious blow against Randolph Southern, falling 58-18.
Meanwhile, Cowan's six-game losing streak came to an end on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Elwood and snuck past 26-23. The victory was just what Cowan needed coming off of a 58-12 loss in their prior contest.
Cowan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Davelynn Lindsay, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Lindsay has scored at least 25% of Cowan's points.
Union's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Cowan, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 1-6.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Union have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 23 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Cowan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 22.6 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Union suffered a grim 55-30 defeat to Cowan in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Will Union have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
