Football Game Recap: Essex vs. Mt. Mansfield

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Mt. Mansfield and Essex. Mt. Mansfield put the hurt on Essex with a sharp 32-6 victory.

Mt. Mansfield's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 16 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Essex couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 16-0 heading into the break. The Mt. Mansfield defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the matchup. The contest pushed Essex down to 1-3 and pulled Mt. Mansfield up to the reverse at 3-1.

Mt. Mansfield will look to defend their home turf next week against Colchester at 1:00 PM. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games. As for Essex, they will face off against Rice Memorial. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous game, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
