Softball Recap: Fort Wayne Northrop Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Elkhart, Fort Wayne Northrop was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They never let the Fort Wayne Snider Panthers get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bruins also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

The result came thanks to Kendall Huth's shutout, as she gave up just three hits.

On the hitting side, Brilee Day was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted over her last 11 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenzie Key, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fort Wayne Northrop kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Wayne Snider only managed three hits.

Fort Wayne Northrop's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-9. As for Fort Wayne Snider, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.
