Baseball Recap: Lakeland Comes Up Short

Lakeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 6-2 to the Lewiston Bengals. The Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bengals from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Tadgh Ellwood was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Ellwood was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Lakeland's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Lewiston, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

While Lakeland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
