Basketball Recap: Oswego Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Oswego unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 43-42 to the Cedar Vale/Dexter Spartans. The Indians lost against the Spartans in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 50-16 score last time.

Despite the loss, Oswego still got an impressive performance from Kodi Trimble, who posted 13 points and eight boards.

Cedar Vale/Dexter can attribute much of their success to Kylee Bragg, who had eight points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Bragg has posted since back in December of 2023. Brooke Haunschild was another key player, putting up four points.

Oswego wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-46 defeat against Northeast on the 9th. As for Cedar Vale/Dexter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-22 win against Copan on the 9th.
