Basketball Recap: Trinity Lutheran Takes a Loss

Trinity Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by Greenwood Christian Academy 69-39. Trinity Lutheran was not able to make up for their loss to Greenwood Christian Academy from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Trinity Lutheran saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Braxton Sinclair went 6-for-11 on his way to 16 points. Sinclair's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Schepman, who posted nine points.

Trinity Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-12.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Trinity Lutheran will take on Jac-Cen-Del at 7:30 p.m. on March 4th. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they will face off against Hauser at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hauser knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Greenwood Christian Academy likes a good challenge.
