Basketball Game Preview: Legend Titans vs. Hamilton Huskies

The Legend Titans and the Hamilton Huskies will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Legend sitting on five straight wins and Hamilton on three.

On Wednesday, Legend strolled past Desert Vista with points to spare, taking the game 50-35. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fourth in Colorado, while the Thunder are ranked 32nd in Arizona), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Legend had a senior duo take command as Mason Borcherding dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds and Maley Wilhelm dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Borcherding a new career-high in rebounds. Grace Stanley was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

Legend smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, the stars were shining brightly for Hamilton in a 53-37 victory over Villa Park on Wednesday.

Hamilton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Legend, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
