Football Recap: Amani Blacknall Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat East Wake + How To Watch

Franklinton owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They walked away with a 13-0 win over the East Wake Warriors. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Red Rams were the (much) better team in the second half.

Franklinton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Amani Blacknall out in front who picked up 130 receiving yards and one score. Those 130 receiving yards gave Blacknall a new career-high.

Franklinton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 206 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Wake only rushed for 90.

Franklinton pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.5 points over those games. As for East Wake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklinton will host Wake Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Rams will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for East Wake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Vance County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Vipers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
