Basketball Game Preview: Memorial Red Devils vs. Lowellville Rockets

Memorial is 2-7 against Lowellville since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Memorial Red Devils will welcome the Lowellville Rockets at 12:00 p.m. One thing working in Memorial's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.

Memorial will head into Tuesday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 51) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Western Reserve 57-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Devils have posted since February 27, 2024.

Memorial's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jared Colon led the charge by going 7 for 13 en route to 16 points in addition to five assists and three steals. The game was Colon's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Christos Davis, who posted ten points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Lowellville came up short against Mineral Ridge on Wednesday and fell 61-48. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Lowellville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
