Basketball Recap: DeRidder Comes Up Short

DeRidder lost against Iowa back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The DeRidder Dragons took a 44-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Iowa Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 123rd).

DeRidder dropped their record down to 5-26 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Iowa, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-14.

DeRidder will square off against LaGrange at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. DeRidder is facing LaGrange at the right time seeing as LaGrange is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Iowa, they will be playing at home against Washington-Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
