Basketball Recap: Red Hook Takes a Loss

Red Hook lost against Wallkill back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Red Hook Raiders received a blow as they fell 66-48 to the Wallkill Panthers. The Raiders were down 62-35 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Zoe Mesuch was her usual excellent self, going 9-for-16 from beyond the arc en route to 38 points along with seven rebounds and three steals for Wallkill. The contest was Mesuch's 20th in a row with at least 18 points. Logan Szeli was another key player, putting up 11 points and five boards.

Red Hook's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Wallkill, they pushed their record up to 8-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Red Hook will head out to take on Our Lady of Lourdes at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Our Lady of Lourdes will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Red Hook surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wallkill, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 58-41 victory against New Paltz on the 13th.
