Suggested Video

Travelers Rest extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 8-14 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Laurens Raiders. The Devildogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2017.

As for Laurens, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games.

For Laurens' part, Summer Nations spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Laurens saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zealy Martin, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Carly Edwards was another, earning two runs and two stolen bases.
