Preview: Eastern Greene Thunderbirds vs. Barr-Reeve Vikings
Eastern Greene is 0-5 against Barr-Reeve since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Eastern Greene Thunderbirds will be home for the holidays to greet the Barr-Reeve Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Greene will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 354th, while Barr-Reeve is ranked 53rd).
Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Eastern Greene had to settle for a 51-48 defeat against North Knox. Eastern Greene has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Barr-Reeve entered their tilt with North Knox with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Barr-Reeve simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat North Knox 67-33 on the road. Barr-Reeve's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Braydon Knepp, who scored 27 points along with three steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Wagler, who scored 11 points along with eight assists.
Eastern Greene's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Barr-Reeve, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
