Quilcene is headed out to face Concrete after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Everything went Quilcene's way against Lummi on Saturday as Quilcene made off with a 38-18 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Rangers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

A big part of the victory came down to the chemistry between Robert Evans and his top target Andrew Lopez. Evans rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns while Lopez rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Evans got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible 60 yards.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Quilcene was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 248 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 172 rushing yards in seven consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Concrete kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 30-18 to Tulalip Heritage.

Quilcene suffered a grim 60-34 defeat to Concrete in their previous meeting back in September of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Concrete's Josiah Rider, who threw for 322 yards and six touchdowns on only 14 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Now that Quilcene knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
