The Unioto Shermans will be taking part in a tournament against the Miami Trace Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Friday, Unioto earned a 10-6 victory over Huntington.
Kendal Walker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Haylee Hull was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Macie Cox, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI.
Unioto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Huntington only posted a batting average of .179.
Meanwhile, Miami Trace entered their tilt with Fairfield on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 12-11 W against the Lions.
Kaylee Everhart made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Everhart was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zoey Grooms, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Jayda Jones was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Unioto is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Miami Trace, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Unioto hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like Miami Trace struggles in that department as they've averaged .380. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Unioto's way against Miami Trace in their previous meeting back in April, as Unioto made off with a 13-3 win. Will the Shermans repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
