Montello waltzed into their match on Tuesday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They put the hurt on the Rio Vikings with a sharp 3-0 win. The Hilltoppers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Montello was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-14, 25-8.

Montello can attribute much of their success to Kyla Calnin, who had five digs and three aces. That's the most aces Calnin has posted over her last nine contests.

Calnin wasn't the only good servers: Montello was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive matchups.

Montello's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Rio, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Montello didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Poynette on the 27th. As for Rio, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Fall River on the 25th.
