Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Burleson

Burleson waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Seguin Cougars a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Elks, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Seguin's batters probably weren't too happy with Ryan Hovland, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 14 Ks (she gave up zero walks).

On the hitting side, Addy Sellers was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Pena, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Burleson's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Seguin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.

Burleson will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Centennial at 5:30 p.m. on March 25th. Seguin also won't see the field for a while: their next game is against Mansfield Timberview at 5:30 p.m. on March 25th.
