Baseball Recap: Loyd Star Find Success

Loyd Star never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Enterprise on Thursday. They came out on top against the Enterprise Yellowjackets by a score of 11-8. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won seven in a row.

Eli Thornton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Thornton was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, Casen Easterling was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Kees, who scored four runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Loyd Star now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Enterprise, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Loyd Star didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-1 loss against North Pike on the 28th. As for Enterprise, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-4 win against Wesson on the 28th.
