Grove is 9-1 against Miami since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Ridgerunners will square off against the Wardogs at 5:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Grove had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Locust Grove on Monday. The Ridgerunners never let the Pirates get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Ridgerunners, who have now won four matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Miami made easy work of Mannford on Tuesday and carried off a 12-4 victory.

The team relied heavily on Ben Sherman, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grant Blundell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Grove pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Miami, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Grove got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Miami by a conclusive 10-1 score. Will the Ridgerunners repeat their success, or do the Wardogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
