Volleyball Game Preview: Edwin O. Smith Panthers vs. RHAM Raptors

Edwin O. Smith is 0-10 against RHAM since October of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Panthers will square off against the Raptors at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Edwin O. Smith took on South Windsor on Friday. The Panthers came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 3-1.

Meanwhile, RHAM faced Windsor in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Raptors blew past the Warriors 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raptors.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: RHAM took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-12, 25-15.

Edwin O. Smith better keep an eye on Sami DeGray. She was instrumental in RHAM's win, getting 16 digs and three assists. Those three assists gave DeGray a new career-high. Victoria Ciesla also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

RHAM was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Windsor only served two.

Edwin O. Smith now has a winning record of 2-1. As for RHAM, their record now sits at 15-3-1.

Edwin O. Smith suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to RHAM in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
