Baseball Game Preview: Timber Creek Wolves vs. The First Academy Royals

The Timber Creek Wolves will venture away from home to face off against The First Academy Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Timber Creek's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so The First Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Timber Creek managed to slip by Spruce Creek the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Timber Creek lost 8-0 to Spruce Creek on Friday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Wolves were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, The First Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Osceola on Friday. The First Academy was the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Osceola. Considering the Royals have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Josh Garcia looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Max Simmons was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Remo Indomenico, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

The First Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Osceola only posted an OBP of .176.

The First Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Timber Creek and nudges their season record down to 12-6.
