Volleyball Recap: Addison Brockmueller Key Part of Team Effort in Eagles Win

There's no place like home for Irene/Wakonda, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past the Parker/Marion Pheasants 3-0 on Thursday. The Eagles not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 28th (when they won 3-0).

The win didn't come easy: Parker/Marion scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-22, 25-22.

Irene/Wakonda's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addison Brockmueller, who had seven digs, six kills, and three blocks. That's the most kills Brockmueller has posted over her last six contests. Another player making a difference was Reagan Rudd, who had 25 assists and four digs.

When it comes to explaining why Parker/Marion lost, don't look at Mara Mohr. Despite the final result, she had 14 digs and nine assists. Mohr is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Irene/Wakonda's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Parker/Marion, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-13 record this season.

Irene/Wakonda has already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Alcester-Hudson on the 14th. As for Parker/Marion, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Parkston on the 16th.
