Basketball Game Preview: Bell Creek Academy Panthers vs. Riverview Sharks

The Bell Creek Academy Panthers will square off against the Riverview Sharks at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Bell Creek Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Bell Creek Academy faced off against Academy of the Holy Names on Tuesday. Bell Creek Academy managed a 58-53 win over Academy of the Holy Names.

Bell Creek Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Natalia Long led the charge by going 8 of 14 en route to 20 points. The dominant performance gave Long a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaleicia Tyler, who posted 11 points.

Bell Creek Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Riverview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Durant and fell 65-24. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 471st, while the Cougars are ranked 186th).

The victory got Bell Creek Academy back to even at 9-9. As for Riverview, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
