Volleyball Recap: Port Charlotte Takes Down Southeast in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Port Charlotte had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Southeast Seminoles by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Seminoles, too.

While Port Charlotte might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Southeast scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 17-25, 25-23.

Hanna Hall paced Port Charlotte's offense, picking up 29 kills. Hall got some help from Alivia Renyolds and her 25 assists. Renyolds was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

When it comes to explaining why Southeast lost, don't look at Mellise Bush. Despite the final result, she had 15 digs and three assists. Bush has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Port Charlotte's win bumped their record up to 11-15. As for Southeast, their loss dropped their record down to 17-4.

Port Charlotte wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Braden River on the 16th. Southeast does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
