Football Recap: Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Piles Up the Points Against Northern Durham

It was a classic North v. South duel when Southern School of Energy and Sustainability duked it out with Northern Durham on Friday. The Spartans blew past the Knights 66-0. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Knights are ranked 377th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Southern School of Energy and Sustainability to victory were Kamari Holloway and Jonathan Dillon. Holloway rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, while Dillon gained 278 total yards and a touchdown. Dillon got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 60 yards. Christian Arellano was another key player, rushing for 32 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Southern School of Energy and Sustainability was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 313 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

As for Northern Durham, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-6 win against East Chapel Hill on the 10th.
