Basketball Recap: Webb City Drops Season-High Score on Frontenac

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Webb City). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Frontenac Raiders 89-52. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 120th in Missouri, while the Raiders are ranked 261st in Kansas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Webb City to victory were Eli Pace and Holton Keith. Pace went 10 for 16 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight steals and five boards, while Keith went 10 of 18 en route to 27 points and three steals. Keith's morning made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Travien Turner, who posted six points and five steals.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Webb City, bringing their record for this year to 8-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.8 points per game. As for Frontenac, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5-1.

Webb City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-36 win against Nevada on the 24th. Frontenac has also already played their next contest (against St. Mary's-Colgan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
