Soccer Recap: Evangel Christian Comes Up Short

If Evangel Christian was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Springwood last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lightning came up short against the Ezekiel Academy Knights on Thursday, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Evangel Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Ezekiel Academy are ranked 19th).

Evangel Christian now has a losing record of 4-5-1. As for Ezekiel Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-1-1.

Coincidentally, Evangel Christian and Ezekiel Academy will both be playing East Central HomeSchool the next time they take the pitch. The Lightning will head out to face the Patriots at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Knights will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
