Basketball Recap: Ja?Mih Tucker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Rowan over North Rowan

West Rowan was the 71-41 winner over North Rowan when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The West Rowan Falcons'2024 ended with a 74-55 defeat against the North Rowan Cavaliers on Thursday. Even though they lost, the Falcons' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.2 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ja?Mih Tucker, who went 6 of 13 en route to 14 points. Tucker has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Kennedy, who posted 16 points.

Even though they lost, West Rowan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive games.

West Rowan's record is now 1-7. As for North Rowan, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

West Rowan won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against East Rowan at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. West Rowan is facing East Rowan at the right time seeing as East Rowan is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for North Rowan, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Salisbury at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Salisbury's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
