Basketball Game Preview: Huntington North Vikings vs. Manchester Squires

The Huntington North Vikings will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Manchester Squires at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Huntington North knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Manchester likes a good challenge.

While Huntington North didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Marion on Saturday as they made off with a 76-53 win. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Huntington North to victory, but perhaps none more so than Titus Schultz, who almost dropped a double-double with 25 points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave Schultz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dalton Husband, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 19 points and eight boards.

Huntington North was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Manchester came up short against Southwood on Friday and fell 58-50.

Huntington North's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 66.0 points this season. As for Manchester, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
