Soccer Game Preview: Central vs. Jacobs

The Central Rockets will take on the Jacobs Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Jacobs better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Central's game on Thursday is any indication, that's when Central really gets things going. The Rockets blew past Cary-Grove 5-2. Central might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Jacobs came into Saturday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Neither they nor Mundelein could gain the upper hand on Saturday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The result was nothing new for Jacobs as the team haven't won a game since March 28th.

The victory got Central back to even at 5-5. Jacobs' draw gives them a new season record of 2-6-2.

Everything went Central's way against Jacobs when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Central made off with a 5-1 win. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
