Basketball Recap: Pottsville Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Pottsville entered their tilt with Tri-Valley on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Tri-Valley Bulldogs by a score of 63-55. Given the Crimson Tide's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pottsville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christian Alvarez led the charge by as he made all 7 shots he took for 17 points. Alvarez is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last 25 games he's played dating back to last season. JuJu Bainbridge was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Pottsville pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points over those games. As for Tri-Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-7.
