Baseball Game Preview: Victoria East Titans vs. Rockport-Fulton Pirates

The Victoria East Titans will face off against the Rockport-Fulton Pirates at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Victoria East will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Friday, Victoria East got the win against Fort Bend Marshall by a conclusive 15-2. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Rockport-Fulton started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Jones. They came up short against the Trojans on Tuesday, falling 10-1. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rockport-Fulton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxon Keown, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Victoria East pushed their record up to 22-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Rockport-Fulton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9-1.

Victoria East beat Rockport-Fulton 6-3 in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
