Softball Recap: Lamar Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Lamar's offense. They came up short against the South Hills Scorpions on Friday, falling 9-0. The Vikings' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Lamar saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bianca Gomez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. Avery Hoogerwerf also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Even though they lost, Lamar hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in seven consecutive matchups.

Lamar wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 22-2 victory against Pinkston on the 1st. As for South Hills, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-2 loss against Duncanville on the 28th.
