Basketball Game Preview: Brother Rice Warriors vs. Central Catholic Fighting Irish

The Brother Rice Warriors will face off against the Central Catholic Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Brother Rice has 12 straight wins, Central Catholic has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Brother Rice is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Michigan's top teams: St. Mary's Prep, who was ranked fifth at the time (Brother Rice was ranked fourth). Brother Rice had just enough and edged St. Mary's Prep out 66-64. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since January 19, 2024.

Meanwhile, Central Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Pickerington North on Saturday and fell 64-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), the Fighting Irish still had to take the loss.

Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Brother Rice, their win bumped their record up to 15-1.
