Basketball Recap: Nathan Moore Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Lennard

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tampa Prep, Durant was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Lennard Longhorns by a score of 66-58. With that victory, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 51.8 points per game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Durant to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nathan Moore, who went 12-for-16 on his way to 24 points and seven rebounds. Moore has also also been stellar as far as field goal percentage is concerned: he's posted one of at least 67% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Niko Sosa, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 13 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Durant was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. They racked up nine more assists than Lennard's also-impressive total of 14.

Several Longhorns players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Moises Abreu, who went 8-for-17 en route to 19 points and four steals. Shawn Bryant was another key player, putting up eight points and ten rebounds.

Durant moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Lennard, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Durant has already played their next contest, a 63-51 defeat against Morgan on the 5th. As for Lennard, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-42 victory against Strawberry Crest on the 3rd.
