Volleyball Recap: Azle Gets the Win

Azle won the last time they faced Ryan and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hornets came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

While Azle won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-18.

When it comes to explaining why Ryan lost, don't look at Abigail Vasquez. Despite the final result, she had 19 digs and three assists. Vasquez has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 19 times she's played.

Azle's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Ryan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Azle and Ryan will both be playing Keller Central the next time they take the court. The Raiders will head out to face the Chargers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Hornets will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
