Soccer Recap: Alice Comes Up Short

Alice lost against Gregory-Portland back in March of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Alice Coyotes lost 14-0 to the Gregory-Portland Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 628th, while the Wildcats are ranked 92nd).

This is the second loss in a row for Alice and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Gregory-Portland, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alice will host King at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gregory-Portland, they will take on Flour Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gregory-Portland has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 40 goals over their last three matches.
