Basketball Game Preview: Montour Spartans vs. Ringgold Rams

The Montour Spartans will face off against the Ringgold Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Montour will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Montour beat Moon Area 60-50. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Tigers are ranked 44th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ringgold played in conference for the first time on Friday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They escaped with a win against Trinity by the margin of a single free throw, 68-67.

Montour pushed their record up to 20-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points over those games. As for Ringgold, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-13.
