Basketball Recap: Beloit Piles Up the Points Against Republic County

Beloit posted their biggest win since February 26th on Tuesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 60-31 victory over the Republic County Buffaloes. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Buffaloes, too.

Beloit was led to victory by Eli Johnson and Luke Cheney. Johnson went 8 of 9 en route to 18 points and six rebounds, while Cheney went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points along with six assists and six boards. The matchup was Johnson's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Litton, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Beloit was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win got Beloit back to even at 2-2. As for Republic County, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Beloit will look to defend their home court on Friday against Ellsworth at 7:30 p.m. Beloit is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.5 points per game this season. As for Republic County, they will head out to take on Minneapolis on Friday.
