Baseball Recap: Schuyler County Has No Trouble Against Milan

Schuyler County never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Milan on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Wildcats. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Cohan Meade spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Schuyler County got a massive performance out of Gage Brownell, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and five RBI. Brownell has become a key player for the Rams: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 9-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Windy, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Schuyler County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

With the win, Schuyler County broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-10. As for Milan, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Coming up, Schuyler County will venture away from home to square off against Northeast at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Milan, they will welcome Green City at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Gophers will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
