Softball Recap: Mountain Brook Comes Up Short

Mountain Brook saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 8-3 to the Plainview Bears. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mountain Brook saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reagan Rape, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Rape has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Mountain Brook's loss dropped their record down to 12-27. As for Plainview, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-6-1 record this season.

Mountain Brook will head out on the road to take on Vestavia Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans are facing the Rebels at the right time seeing as the Rebels are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Plainview has already played their next match (against Springville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
