Recap: North Hopkins Panthers vs. Big Sandy Wildcats
The North Hopkins Panthers can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 win over Big Sandy. Given North Hopkins' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while Big Sandy is ranked 1150th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Big Sandy still got an impressive performance from Malijah Francis, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Petty-johnson, who scored nine points.
North Hopkins' victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Big Sandy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.
North Hopkins won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Brook Hill at 1:30 p.m. on December 15th. Brook Hill will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Big Sandy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Joaquin at 12:00 p.m. on December 15th. Joaquin is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
