Lutheran-Northeast and Howells-Dodge are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Lutheran-Northeast Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Howells-Dodge Jaguars on Friday.

Last Thursday, Lutheran-Northeast came up short against Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] and fell 51-39.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Cole Lawless, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Feddern, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Howells-Dodge had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.7 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers, sneaking past 63-61.

Howells-Dodge's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4. As for Lutheran-Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Lutheran-Northeast didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Howells-Dodge in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 39-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lutheran-Northeast since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
